CLEVER is a program that we use to access many different applications. It is used as a single sign-on option for applications such as i-Ready, Typing Agent. This way students and teachers do not need to remember different logins for different sites. The Chrome browser works best with many learning applications, however, others will also work.

The School District of Mauston uses Google login to sign in to Clever. 

• When Using a Chromebook

  • When using a Chromebook, the student needs to be logged into the Chromebook with his or her own Gmail account to be taken to their learning applications. Your school google login - this is your school email address and password. (hint: school email address almost always is student’s legal name in Skyward: firstname.lastname@students.maustonschools.org )
  • Go to the Menu Option of Students
  • Click on Clever
  • Click Log in with Google

You will be directed to your Clever portal where you can choose the application you would like to open. No additional login information is required for applications accessed through Clever.

Windows Machine and Chrome Browser

The student needs to be logged into the browser in order to gain access to their accounts through the Clever login.

1. Click on the person icon at the top right.

2. Click on the icon to bring up a menu and click the option :"Sign into Chrome".

3. Enter the login credentials of the account you want to use (school email account). This will take you to a final menu where you must click “Link Data” Once that is complete your student’s bookmarks, and saved pages will be connected and they will be able to use the account for google login.

Mac and Chrome Browser

The student needs to be logged into the browser in order to gain access to their accounts through the Clever login.

Multiple logins for Chrome

Please Note: Multiple students can use the same desktop or device, they each need to link their own account and make sure that they are on the correct account. The easiest way to differentiate between accounts is to have personalized pictures for their accounts. Their picture will appear in the top right of the screen when they are logged into their account.

Using a Desktop Computer, Laptop (other than a Chromebook), Or Mac - Other Browsers (for Example: Edge, Firefox, Safari)

• Click the Menu Option of  Students

• On the right, click on Clever

• You will be brought to the Mauston School District’s Clever Login Page. Click Log in with Google. A screen will appear asking you to sign in to google to continue.

• Please type in the student's school email address and click Next.  

  • The window will now say Welcome (student’s Email address). Enter your Password. This is the same password students use to log into Chromebooks at school and to log in to their student Gmail account. Type in student’s password and click Next.

• You will be directed to your Clever portal where you can choose the application you would like to open. No additional login information will be required for applications in Clever.

iPad App

An app for CLEVER is available in the Apple App store. Some of the eLearning applications found in CLEVER can run on an Apple iPad.

• Download and install the app from the Apple App store

• Log in with Google using your district email address.

Students will use their District Gmail account to log into a number of learning applications including their Gmail, Google Docs, Google, Drive, Clever for i-Ready, and Google Classroom.

The student email address is firstname.lastname@students.maustonschools.org

Students sometimes forget their passwords. For login or password help for students, please contact your child's teachers. If that is not successful, please contact the Help Desk.

Q: How do I log into i-Ready?

A: Students in SDM use Clever to log into i-Ready with their Gmail address. A student's Gmail address is firstname.lastname@students.maustonschools.org.

Q: Can i-Ready and Ready Math work on any device?

A: i-Ready works on most devices, however, will not work on a phone or iPad mini.
